WELL CHILD CHECK APPOINTMENTS:

What is your child's well child check up addressing? What can't you see?

Lake Lewisville Pediatrics has a comprehensive well child visit to assure you of your child's good health and growth, inside and out.

SCHEDULE FOR WELL CHILD CHECK (WCC):
  • 1-2 weeks (newborn check)
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 2 years and older: yearly till they are 18 years of age.
This is a list of some of the issues that we address at the WCC visit:
  • Vital signs (Blood pressure, Pulse, Respiratory Rate)
  • Height, Weight, Head Circumference (2 and younger)
  • Body Mass Index (for 2 an older)- a better gauge of childhood weight issues
  • Head to toe physical exams
  • Vision screening (for 4 and older)
  • Hearing screening (for 4 and older)
  • Developmental screening including school performance
  • Family history screening for risk factors that require lab (elevated cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid disease)
  • Immunizations
  • Mental health, violence, and other risk behavior screening
  • Discussion of growth and development and related emotional issues
  • Distribution of resources to patient and parent for optimizing growth, health and nutritional status. Information concerning safety as relates to internet interactions, driving, drug and alcohol exposure and social interaction will be offered.
  • Address referral to appropriate resources or specialists
