Telephone Triage

During office hours, we have 3 licensed nurses who triage most of our patient phone calls. The triage nurses offer the following services:

  • giving routine medical advice over the phone.
     
  • refill your child's routine medications.
     
  • notify you about any lab or X ray results after they have been interpreted by the physician.
     
  • advise you to make an appointment if your child needs to be seen by a physician.

Please remember, all nurse calls are returned in the order in which they are received. Our goal is to return your phone call as soon as possible but at certain times of the year, it may take up to 2 hours to return your call. If your child is very ill and you cannot wait for their return call, please make an appointment to be seen. Please be available near your phone when the nurse returns the call as this may delay medical treatment for your child. Please have your pharmacy # ready when you call the nurse. 

After hours, please leave a message on our voice mail and one of our triage nurses will call you back. Please remember that there is a service charge of $10.00 per call. This service is not available for refilling routine medications, making appointments or obtaining any non urgent test results. The physician on call will be consulted by our triage nurses when needed.
